I am not the tidiest or most organised of people. General untidiness extends to the electronic house keeping of data. So, this weekend I promised myself that I would make some effort to impose more order on the situation that I had previously.
I have located quite a lot of broken links (from earlier issues with megaupload and rapidshare) that I will look to rectify in the next few weeks.
I have created a spreadsheet of pretty much everything that I have, bootleg-wise. This spreadsheet is for my own use but I hope that a clear overview will facilitate how and when material is posted. It will also be easier for me to coordinate the posting of audio material with contemporary reviews, ads, interviews etc extracted from the music press of the day. It's not rocket science but it takes a bit of thinking through in order to contextualise some of the stuff in the best way.
With The Stranglers stuff excluded as well as Numan stuff (handled separately on the 'Listen To The Sirens' site (and The Stranglers recordings are already listed on this site), the excel runs to a rounded 2,500 recordings, of which 99% is the in the same vein as the stuff that I have been putting up for the last 15 years.
As I have said on numerous posts, the pool of Stranglers gigs is running dry... if you can help, please feel free to drop me an email. However, as mentioned above there is no shortage of great material from many bands that I, and I think that you love.
Cheers!
Adrian.
