Le Bataclan 25th March 2010

Clearly, this post does not require much of an introduction. Today Le Bataclan, a venue with a long history of entertaining the Parisian population, stands scarred after the events of Friday night.

The Stranglers also have a long history with the venue with their most recent visit being this one from 5 years ago. This was a double celebration. The second Wonky Bus tour had rolled into town and the gig marked Baz Warne's birthday.

  1. Thank you very much for this post and rest assured that Parisians will not give up on music and laughs because of a few madmen! I had four people i knew at the Bataclan. A mother and daughter who fortunately escaped relatively unscathed, but a couple of young people, one escaped with two bullets in the hip and leg and one was murdered there. And we would have been with them at the eagles' show, was it not that we had elected to go see fat white family, so punk saved us in a way. I wish all blogs would follow your stance and post Bataclan concerts as a tribute to the resilience of joy in front of horror. Thanks again and love to all.

  2. Many thanks for your words, they make the whole sorry situation in Europe all the more of a tragedy when victims are no longer just faces in the paper or on a TV screen. Best wishes, Adrian.
